Intro

Here we are going to discuss the progression of our Unity project so far and where we are headed next. We are working little by little towards our end goal but each step has been a major leap forwards in progression.

What’s New?

Storyboard.

Storyboard.

So far, we have a storyboarded how the game will show off the mechanics initially to the player. We aim to have a menu and a simple UI system that clearly instructs the abilities the player can perform.

We want there to be a tutorial that explains the functions of the game before the narrative begins. This is so there is no confusion about the radio component before the player dives into the story.

The scene now holds a few of the 3D models that were designed previously, which can be accessed by the arrows on the screen. While it looks relatively empty at the moment, the aim is to create a full, busy scene in each frame that over-looks the ocean. This has been a great insight into how the final project may look.

We have a long way to go, but so far we are on track to exhibiting a demo at the John Hansard Gallery in late April. We hope to give our players at least ‘Day 1’ as an example of the gameplay to expect. This day will also be a great chance to explore any issues and bugs we need to fix before the final hand in.

What’s Next?

I want to continue modelling assets for the scenes as well as add some colour through UV wrapping. Some model ideas include:
