A little look into how we are spreading the word about our game. Alongside our social media posts, we are also working around the clock promoting Keeper’s Veil with a new website and posters around campus.
Poster Ideas.
To align with our games themes, I researched into some similar game/film posters for inspiration. I wanted our poster to be symbolic of a movie or upcoming novel; a subtle insight into the mystery that will grab the attention of our audience. A lot of these reference images use a dark foundation with a bright accent colour to make it pop on the page. They use little writing but an eye-catching font with a powerful silhouette outlined in the middle.
I sketched a few ideas, all with the same subject; a lighthouse and a serpent. This explains the main themes of the game without giving away too much of the story. I was particularly drawn to the top most-left idea, as I figured I could create a clever effect of a dark background and a light appearing from the lighthouse.
First Idea.
Final Idea.
I decided to keep to a very small colour scheme that packed a lot of focus upon the centre. With a keen eye, a viewer can see the jaws made up from the waves and the darkness that surrounds the structure, with the style of an oil-paint brush stroke across it. I’m particularly proud of the outcome.
The black boarder keeps the text tidy and clear so that our socials are visible. These posters were hung around around the studio to generate hype around the name.
We are also planning on making stickers to give out to our fans so that we have something to give away during our exhibitions.
